tau-Metrix, Inc. (TMX) was founded in 2002 and is privately held. tau-Metrix provides innovative non-invasive, time-based characterization technologies for the semiconductor industry. tau-Metrix tools and design services enable early characterization and in-die monitoring of RO performance variation throughout the product's technology development and high-volume manufacturing ramp cycles. tau-Metrix' technology improves our customer's product design-technology interaction optimization, process sensitivity learning, and time-to-market.

  • Nader Pakdaman - Founder and CEO

    Nader Pakdaman

    Nader Pakdaman completed his graduate studies in applied physics and electrical engineering at Purdue University and Columbia University. He is the co-founder of tau-Metrix, and co-founded Optonics in 1998, a semiconductor diagnostics company that was acquired by Credence Systems in 2003.
  • James Vickers, Ph.D. - Founder and CTO

    James S. Vickers Ph.D.

    James S. Vickers received his Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from Purdue University, and his Masters and Ph.D. degrees from the University of California at Berkeley. He is currently the CTO and co-founder of tau-Metrix, Inc. In 1998 he co-founded Optonics, a semiconductor diagnostics company, which was acquired by Credence Systems in 2003.
  • Mario M. Pelella, Ph.D. - VP of Engineering
    Mario M. Pelella

    Mario M. Pelella, Ph.D.

    Mario M. Pelella received his Bachelor and Masters of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Clarkson University, and his Ph.D. degree from the University of Florida. He is currently the Director of Engineering of tau-Metrix, Inc. He has held senior device design, modeling, and technology development positions at IBM and AMD. He is currently the 2009 SOI Conference General Chair.
  • Gary Steinbrueck - Chief Designer

    Gary Steinbrueck

    Gary Steinbrueck received the Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering at the University of Missouri (UMR/MST) and has worked in the semiconductor design and manufacturing field for over thirty years, with responsibility for advanced development, product design and engineering for bipolar and CMOS technologies. He retired from International Business Machines Corp. in 2002 to co-found tau-Metrix, and is currently its Chief Designer.
  • Behrooz Yadegar - Chairman of the Board

    Behrooz Yadegar

    Behrooz Yadegar received his Bachelor and Masters of Science degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Missouri. He is currently the Chairman of the Board of tau-Metrix, Inc. Mr. Yadegar held senior technical management positions at Cypress Semiconductor, Genesis Microchip, MediaQ, Cortina Systems, Silicon Graphics, MIPS and Intel.
